Our Terms and COnditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully as by booking and paying for accommodation you are deemed to have accepted them.

General Information

  • St Leonards Lodge is strictly a non smoking house.
  • Check in is 4.00pm – 6.00pm.
  • Check out is by 10.00am.
  • Cancellations or curtailment made 60 days or less before arrival date will be charged the total cost of stay.
  • Non arrivals will be charged total cost of stay.
  • We reserve the right to change requested rooms.
  • We suggest guests take out adequate travel insurance to cover for unforeseen cancellations.
  • Regrettably we do not accept children younger than 16 years old.
  • There are NO refunds during special occasions, graduation, the start or end of term and sporting competitions.
  • We do not allow pets.

Terms and Conditions

The Hirer warrants that the subjects let are to be used for the purposes of a holiday and so accepts that the letting is a holiday let to which Section 12(2) and paragraph 8 of Schedule 4 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 apply, namely, “a tenancy the purpose of which is to confer on the tenant the right to occupy the house for a holiday.” Licence registration FIFE FI 00009F.

“Lessor” means the property owner Debbie MacCallum
A contract of booking is made when we have received your booking details and the reservation deposit and we have confirmed the booking to you.

The Hirer shall not sub-let the premises or any part thereof.
The number of people occupying the premises shall not exceed the number stated for the premises.

The Hirer binds and is obliged to vacate the hired premises without demand at the termination of the period of hire.

The Hirer binds and obliges him/herself to pay to the Lessor in respect of any loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear.

The Hirer shall, at all times, keep the hired premises in a clean and tidy condition and leave them in this way. A charge may apply for an unreasonable amount of cleaning at the termination of hire.
The Hirer shall undertake to prevent any member of their party from causing a nuisance or disturbance to other residents or occupiers.
The Hirer undertakes to leave the hired premises secure if left unoccupied during the period of let.

To permit the owners and their agents reasonable access to the property.

DATA COLLECTION - Data protection is a human right. Your data is our responsibility and as such will be treat with respect. We will never spam, sell or use your data for purposes other than those agreed to.

TRACKING SITE VISITORS

Our site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to better understand our users and their usage of our website. Google does not give us any personal information about you or your business.

Google are a third party data processor.
GA makes use of cookies.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.

Comments can contain personal information, please ensure that if you don’t want to let us have this information do not post a comment on our blog.
Comments are public and therefore your data will show on the post itself.

FORMS & EMAIL LINKS

Forms on our site send the content to an internal email address.
All email is sent to us over the (SMTP). Our SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL) This means email content is encrypted using SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography before being sent across the internet. The email content is decrypted by our devices.

EMAIL SIGNUPS

The email address that you submit to us will be added to our email marketing service who provide us with email marketing services. This service is a third party data processor.
Your email address will be stored in in our email marketing service providers database for as long as we continue to use this service for email marketing or until you request removal from the service.
When requesting removal via email, please send your email to us using the email account that is subscribed to the mailing list. Without this we cannot identify you.
If you are under 16 years of age by law you must obtain parental consent before signing up for any of our services.

THIRD PARTY DATA PROCESSORS WE USE

All the 3rd party data processors we use comply with the legislation set out in the GDPR. Where they are based in the USA they are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant.

DATA BREACHES

As required by GDPR we will report any unlawful data breach of this website’s data or any of our third party data processors to the ICO within 72 hours.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy may change from time to time inline with legislation. We won’t inform our clients or website users of these changes. Please check back about this policy as required.

PERSONAL INJURY & LOSS OF GUEST PROPERTY

The guest cannot hold the owners responsible for injury sustained or loss or damage to any belonging during their stay. The proprietor accepts no liability for accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by any guests, their family, visitors vehicles or personal effects however caused.

CONTRACT

The contract for a short term holiday rental shall be made between the guest and the owner. The Contract is only effective once the transaction has been approved via email, the required payment has been received and confirmation has been sent to the guest by email.

On arrival the guest must be able to provide either written or electronic confirmation of the booking sent to them as evidence of said booking if requested. If there is no written confirmation of booking for the appropriate dates there is no legal contract.

PAYMENT AND PRICES

A non-returnable deposit of 50% of the booking is payable on booking. The balance is payable 60 days prior to arrival. For booking made less than 60 days in advance the total amount is payable on booking. The guest is responsible for the cost of any bank charges if the funds are transferred from abroad

NUMBER OF GUESTS PER ROOM

The number of persons occupying a room must not exceed x 2 adults. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice if this condition is breached. We reserve the right to decline accommodation and require the immediate removal of any persons not complying with these conditions or for any behaviour detrimental to the property or the comfort of our other guests.

SMOKING POLICY

St Leonards Bed and Breakfast is strictly NO SMOKING anywhere on the property. Anyone found to have been smoking in the rooms will be charged a fee of £500 for a deep clean.

CARE OF PROPERTY

Your room must be left clean and tidy on departure. We reserve the right to make an additional charge of the extra cost of cleaning incurred by us if the room is not left in a satisfactory condition. We do ask guests to report breakages of any kind immediately. We would ask that any faults or failure should be reported immediately in order that steps can be taken to remedy the problem. We cannot be held liable for a breakdown of any facility which is beyond our reasonable care.

Any complaints cannot be accepted after the guest has departed.
